Dear Bioenergy people

This is the 3^rd ERA ARD Bioenergy newsletter.

Funding
Unfortunately, Germany and Italy will not be able to commit funds to this call. I am still awaiting a final decision from Belgium. I am ready to circulate the information immediately should the confirmation of commitment be received at the Call Secretariat.

Participation without funds
I have been asked on several occasions whether a researcher or research group could participate in a proposal if they have their own funds.
I think that there is no reason why this is not possible. I assume that there would have to be some added value to the consortium and if a research group with a funds could provide added value to the ERA ARD Bioenergy project and also get added value to their project then this would make sense.
This EU instrument aims at coordination so if, by participating at no extra cost, coordination is strengthened, then I think this is a good thing.

Peer Reviewers
A request for nomination of Peer Reviewers was circulated from the Call Secretariat on 3rd September with a deadline 1^st October 2008. So far I have only received 4 nominations.
